1. Name a parent or guardian on your policy (assuming they don’t have a bad driving record).
2. Insure your car whilst you are learning.
3. Take the Pass Plus. Whilst an immediate saving isn’t always available, by being a better driver you’re less likely to claim and lose your no claims bonus.
4. Do not modify your car, even adding a spoiler can add to your premium.
5. Older cars tend to be cheaper to insure than new cars, and the image the car has, a sporty car will always cost more.
